Git Racer turns your GitHub contributions into a competitive sport. Sign in with GitHub, pick any GitHub username as your opponent — a friend, a coworker, or a famous developer like Linus Torvalds — and race to see who ships more commits.

Every race uses real data: Git Racer pulls actual commit counts from GitHub, so you start from your real totals instead of zero. Run a sprint with a deadline or an ongoing race with no end date, and watch the live leaderboard update as commits land.

How it works

1. Sign in with GitHub — read-only access, no repo permissions needed.
2. Pick your opponent by searching any GitHub username.
3. Choose a sprint with a deadline or an open-ended race.
4. Share your challenge link so friends can join the race and follow the leaderboard.
